The new album from country singer Jason Aldean will feature a duet with Kelly Clarkson called Don’t You Wanna Stay. My Kinda Party — the fourth album from the singer known for hits like Crazy Town, Big Green Tractor, She’s Country and Hicktown — comes out Nov. 2.

It’ll be the second big country collaboration for the former American Idol winner, who previously cut a duet version of Because of You with Reba McEntire that was a country hit in 2005.

Aldean is one of the 10 most-played acts on country radio this year, and his most recent album, Wide Open, has sold nearly 1.3 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Aldean’s new single, the title track from My Kinda Party, is currently at No. 34 on USA TODAY’s Country chart.

After months of announcing a wide array of stars that will perform various dates on this summer’s Lilith Fair tour, the actual lineup for the tour’s Boston show has finallly been announced. Sarah McLachlan, the tour’s co-founder and only main stay act for this year’s outing, will play the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Friday, July 30 with fellow headliners Carly Simon and Kelly Clarkson. Also confirmed to play Boston is Tegan & Sara, Sara Bareilles, Missy Higgens, Cat Power, Serena Ryder, Zee Avi and Ann Atomic. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $31.50 to $101 (with a 4-pack ticket special available for $75 each), go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

The traveling all-women’s music festival returns to the spotlight after being massive crowd pleaser during the summers of 1997 to 1999. The groundbreaking tour consisted solely of female solo artists and female-led bands including Christina Aguilera, The Dixie Chicks, Missy Elliot, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah, and many more. In its three years, Lilith Fair raised over $10 million for women’s charities throughout North America.

Lilith Fair has also partnered with Reverb, the Maine-based company founded by Guster’s Adam Gardner and his wife Lauren Sullivan, to make the 2010 tour more eco-friendly.

Over the past few months, Kelly Clarkson’s weight has been a hot topic for critical bloggers. But the outspoken singer – who has said “Of course celebrities have cellulite!” – doesn’t let the body bullies get her down.

“When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine!’,” Clarkson, 27, tells the September issue of Self.

She also notes, “My happy weight changes. Sometimes I eat more; sometimes I play more.”

These days, the play part means golf (“I love it!”) as well as Crossfit workouts. “It’s like bootcamp!” she says of the regimen that includes sit-ups, squats and running. “You never work out more than 35 minutes, but it’s so intense … It makes me feel like G.I. Jane. It’s very empowering. I feel like I can whup ass!”

Indeed, Clarkson’s motivation for exercising isn’t to lose weight. “I do it totally for my psyche,” she explains. “I’m much better when those endorphins are going. It’s a release. And I also love food, so there’s a payoff!”

The Texas native admits she still eats chicken-fried steak, but also has days when she prefers salads. “I love healthy stuff and junk an equal amount,” she tells the magazine. “Whatever I’m craving, I go for it.”

Her secret to losing weight, in fact, is to not go on a diet: “For me, it’s the times when I’m not paying attention that I end up losing weight. But I’m never trying to lose weight – or gain it. I’m just being!”

Kelly Clarkson may not have an issue with her weight, but a digitally slimmed-down image of the singer on the cover of Self magazine is causing waves online.

Lucy Danziger, editor-in-chief of the women’s health magazine, is speaking out in defense of “retouching” the 27-year-old singer in order to make her “look her personal best” on the September issue.

“Yes. Of course we do retouching,” Danziger writes in a post on Self.com. “Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best.”

Calling Clarkson “the picture of confidence,” Danzinger writes, “I think this photo is the truest we have ever put out there on the newsstand.”

But many readers have expressed disappointment and outrage over the digitally slim Clarkson. “Hey, hi, Self ladies: None this changes or explains the fact that YOU ALTERED THE BONE STRUCTURE OF HER FACE,” write one reader on jezebel.com where the controversy is stewing.

Adds another reader: “Taking out red eye and airbrushing a pimple would be making her look her personal best. You completely changed the way her body looked. Why even bother asking Kelly Clarkson to pose in your magazine if you didn’t think her body fit into your idea of what was best?”

In the Self article, Clarkson defends her figure. “When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine!,’ ” Clarkson says. “I’m never trying to lose weight – or gain it,” she added. “I’m just being!”

This is not the first photo flap the singer has been involved with: In January Clarkson wrote on her blog that “they Photoshopped the crap out of me!” on her All I Ever Wanted album cover image.

KISS 97.9 posted up audio of Kelly’s stripped performance, which includes I Do Not Hook Up, Already Gone, Walk Away, Behind these Hazel Eyes, Walkin’ After Midnight, and My Life Would Suck Without You. Listen to it here!

Kelly Clarkson is singing the blues over her latest single “Already Gone” because it sounds too similar to Beyonce’s hit “Halo.”

In a weekend interview with Canada’s CBC radio network, Clarkson reveals that she had been battling behind the scenes to keep the song — which she co-wrote with songwriter Ryan Tedder — from being released after she realized it resembled Beyonce’s “Halo,” another Tedder tune.

Only when her new album All I Ever Wanted was ready to be shipped did she hear “Halo” and know that the same backing track was used, she claims.

Outraged, Clarkson says she confronted her co-writer on the phone, “I don’t understand. Why would you do that?

“No one’s gonna be sittin’ at home, thinking ‘Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyonce and Kelly the same track to write to,’” she recalls saying. “No, they’re just gonna be saying I ripped someone off.”

“I fought and fought” to stop it, she says, but “in the end, they’re releasing it without my consent,”

Adds Clarkson (who belted out the power ballad on The Late Show with David Letterman two weeks ago), “It sucks, but it’s one of those things I have no control over. I already made my album. At this point, the record company can do whatever they want with it. It’s kind of a s*****y situation, but . . . you know, you learn.”

This isn’t the first time the American Idol champ has clashed with collaborators.

In 2007, she faced off against RCA honcho Clive Davis over the release of her third album My December. He said the album lacked radio hits; she disagreed and aired her frustrations to the press. (“I am not a fan [of Davis],” she icily told USA Weekend.)

In the end, Clarkson apologized to “those whom I have done disservice” after the release of the album (which failed to go platinum). “I would never intentionally hurt anyone,” she said on her website. “I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with.”
